I have been blogging since shortly after I got into the Car Business in 2007. Now, as the Business Development Manager for a high volume new car dealership in the Greater Toronto Area, I have transitioned from corporate marketing and sales in the 1980's and 1990's to Digital Marketing in the 21st Century. I plan to share what I have learned along this road of discovery as it specifically applies to the automotive industry in general and to the car dealership sector in particular. During this period, I have used digital media as an independent sales professional looking for car buyers and as the dealership manager responsible for managing the dealership's website, social media, and email marketing programs as well as lead management and lead generation.
I have created and implemented optimized website landing pages populated by over 150 personally produced YouTube videos resulting in increased website traffic of over 165%. And we're really just getting started but, since 2007, I have learned a lot about how to use digital media to build a loyal following and drive qualified buyers to your store and/or website.
If you are working in a car dealership as a sales consultant and want to start generating your own traffic or if you are an internet manager at a dealership and want to figure out how to engage and nurture prospects or if your are responsible for customer retention want to know how to use these tools to build a database of fans and ambassadors for your business, stay tuned. We will be exploring social media, email marketing, direct response marketing, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, and video marketing to name a few.
Please comment on what you read here and please ask questions as well as tell me what are the stumbling blocks for you in this new world of Digital Marketing.
